Two Florida cities renew longstanding partnerships with CH2M HILL OMI DENVER, Oct. 27, 2008 — Councils in two Florida cities — Mary Esther and DeFuniak Springs — recently unanimously voted to continue partnering with CH2M HILL OMI for a variety of water and wastewater operations and maintenance services. The contracts were each renewed for another five years. In Mary Esther, CH2M HILL OMI has operated and maintained the city’s wastewater treatment plant since early 2003. New services added in 2005 include O&M of the collection and distribution system, four groundwater wells and 14 lift stations, as well as meter reading and spray field operations, which use reclaimed effluent for irrigation. In DeFuniak Springs, CH2M HILL OMI people have taken care of the city’s wastewater facility, five water wells and 40 lift stations since early 2003. The company maintains the 150-acre spray field site as well. Both facilities operated by CH2M HILL OMI have earned several safety awards from the Florida Water & Pollution Control Operators Association. Last year, the DeFuniak Springs system also earned the Florida Water Environment Association First Place Safety Award in its category. “We appreciate the opportunity to continue serving these outstanding Florida communities.
