Denver, Jan. 7, 2008 — Mark Lasswell has been appointed President and Group Chief Executive for CH2M HILL’s Civil Infrastructure Client Group, the firm’s division primarily focused on providing a range of engineering, design, construction, and operations and maintenance services to water, wastewater and transportation clients worldwide. One of four primary client groups across the firm, the Civil Infrastructure Group includes three business groups: Transportation, Water and Operations & Maintenance (CH2M HILL OMI).

A professional engineer with three decades of leadership at CH2M HILL, most recently as CH2M HILL OMI president, Lasswell was also elected to the firm’s board of directors in May 2006.

Lasswell has a master’s degree in sanitary/environmental engineering and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University, Corvallis, Ore. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Oregon, Washington and Idaho.

As President of CH2M HILL OMI, he directed operations, administration, and client relations for and was responsible for establishing and achieving the firm’s vision, market strategy, and performance objectives.

Lasswell joined CH2M HILL OMI after 15 years in CH2M HILL's Water Business Group, where he made significant contributions to the group’s growth and industry leadership over his tenure, including serving as senior vice president, Business Development and Technology. He has a strong technical background in planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, as well as strong skills in strategic planning and project management.

Succeeding Lasswell as President of CH2M HILL OMI is Elisa M. Speranza, who is moving over from the firm’s Water Business Group, where she spearheaded many successful teams and initiatives over the past seven years.
