CH2M HILL OMI secures key contract renewals
to operate, maintain water-related services

Denver, July 13, 2007 Underscoring the strength of CH2M HILL OMI’s partnerships with customers throughout North America, the company announced it has earned more than $65 million in contract renewals in the first half of the year, including major projects in Arizona, Michigan, Kansas and Washington.

As part of the contracts, CH2M HILL OMI will continue to apply its extensive expertise in operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilities and technologies to deliver clean, healthy water and preserve environmental quality for thousands of people every day. In addition, the company’s global practice areas and decades of experience will help government officials to meet environmental performance standards, preserve and extend capital investments, control costs and much more.

“Multiple project renewals demonstrate that CH2M HILL OMI is a respected, valued partner with the right people, right knowledge and right commitment to manage a community’s most vital assets,” says Mark Lasswell, CH2M HILL OMI president. “We’re dedicated to delivering the industry’s best water solutions so it’s easy for our partners to choose us again and again.”

Among the contracts signed so far this year:

  • The Fort Mojave Tribal Utilities Authority in Mohave Valley, Ariz., signed a 20-year operations and management contract with CH2M HILL OMI. The company has provided operations and maintenance services for the FMTUA for the past 17 years, including water and wastewater services in parts of California, Arizona and Nevada. Other services include meter reading, billing, collecting revenue and financial administration.

  • In Traverse City, Mich., commissioners renewed the city’s contract with CH2M HILL OMI to operate the wastewater plant and related services for another five years. The contract builds on a previous 17-year partnership with the city, and it reflects the company’s unique ability to run the technologically advanced system, which includes one of the world’s largest membrane bioreactors.

  • In Dodge City, Kans., commissioners renewed the city’s contract for another five years with CH2M HILL OMI. The company has operated Dodge City’s award-winning, non-discharge wastewater treatment facility since 1988. The lift stations, pump stations, lagoons, reservoirs, and irrigation station are monitored with a state-of-the-art computerized telemetry system.

  • In Bainbridge, Wash., CH2M HILL OMI’s work at the Wyckoff-Eagle Harbor Superfund Site has been extended another 15 months. Since 1993, the company has partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and CH2M HILL to operate the site’s complex groundwater treatment facility, which was designed to clean groundwater that had been contaminated by residue left over from a wood-treatment facility and shipyard. CH2M HILL OMI will continue operating the existing groundwater treatment plant while a new plant is under construction.
