Oct. 16, 2007—More than 50 managers from CH2M HILL’s Southeast Region descended on DeFuniak Springs, Fla., on Oct. 6 for their annual team meeting – and for their annual community service event. Associates volunteered at Lake Stanley Park to build amenities for everyone in the community to enjoy: six grills, two picnic tables, a sandbox, fencing and a bench that commemorates the partnership between the city and the company.
This is the third year that the team has held a service event as part of its regional meeting, in line with the company’s commitment to citizenship. CH2M HILL OMI has operated and maintained the city’s wastewater treatment plant, water wells and lift stations since early 2003.
"It was a beautiful day, and the staff worked diligently and were able to complete all of their projects in less than 3 hours," says Jayne Swift, Project Manager for DeFuniak Springs. She helped lead the event along with Regional Vice President Herb Washington and Regional Business Manager Brent Stauffer.
Also attending the event were City Public Works Director Bill Holloway, City Manager Kim Kirby and several council members. |
