Dec. 11, 2006—The Thunderbolt Town Council has decided to partner with CH2M HILL OMI to operate, maintain and manage the Town’s water, wastewater, sanitation and Public Works departments. Contractual details of the partnership are being finalized with an anticipated start date the first week of January 2007.
The Town selected CH2M HILL OMI after thoroughly reviewing statements of qualifications from interested firms, researching each firm and talking to other Towns to gain perspective.
Public works chairwoman Beth Goette states, “I am confident that CH2M HILL OMI will meet our requirements and provide the level of service that the Town desires.”
“CH2M HILL OMI has the experience, resources and business processes to ensure that Thunderbolt’s citizens receive cost-effective services,” says Councilman Carl Smith.
The Town employees that currently perform these services will be offered employment with CH2M HILL OMI. “We made sure that the contract requires CH2M HILL OMI to make employment offers to all employees,” says Thunderbolt Town Administrator Bob Thomson. “We also required the inclusion of an immediate raise for employees since they were due an increase in January.”
“We are pleased the Town has selected CH2M HILL OMI to perform these services,” says CH2M HILL OMI Sales Manager George Cartledge. “We look forward to a long and productive relationship with the Town and are confident in our ability to provide outstanding, quality service to the community.”
CH2M HILL OMI currently operates 25 projects in Georgia, including nearby Hinesville, Richmond Hill and Effingham County. |
